i saw an angel- of that i’m sure

On Monday night a very dear friend of mine took me to see James Blunt in concert. And holy happy eardrums Batman, can that man sing. It was an amazing performance. I was blown away by his talent and stage presence. He manages to connect with the audience like no one I’ve ever seen. It’s like he’s seeking each person out individually to make eye contact. It was intense and amazing and powerful. No one was really dancing or moving around all that much, which I found odd because I was having a hard time sitting still in my seat. I wanted to jump up and down and maybe faint a little bit like the girls always did at Beatles concerts, but I don’t think the people crammed in the seats next to me would have appreciated that very much (hi George from Brazil!). “Goodbye My Lover” and “No Bravery” were my absolute favorites of the night, because he played both of those songs alone at the piano. It’s amazing how one instrument and one voice can convey so much passion and emotion.

This is one talented musician, my friends.
