storm water
It has been raining here. Raining and raining and raining. Roads are washing out and neighborhoods are flooding. Entire towns are becoming isolated. Our lights have been flickering on and off all day, and I’ve been obsessively checking our food and flashlight supplies for the last hour. For a part of the country that’s used to being wet, we certainly aren’t prepared for the kind of storm water that has flooded Western Washington over the last few days.
I feel a little like Noah up here on our hill. Down in the valleys the water is slowly rising, rivers sloshing over their banks and forcing homes to be evacuated. But up here, safe and dry, all we can do is wait and watch while the water takes over the lowlands. Here are some pictures from my neighbor a few towns over:
What used to be lush green pastures…
are now completely submerged.
Here’s wishing dry thoughts and blessings to those whose lives are being affected by this watery mess.
